365 day 82: Watch Out Lindsey Vonn

Had our biggest regional race, The Keweenaw Cup today! Here's a picture of Naomi racing to the finish line! She did extremely well and it just goes to show that all the hard work she's been putting in is paying off. I'm not all that great at sports photography just yet but had to post this being a super proud mom!!

Backlighting

I have a love for backlit pictures and I can never get them just right. So I've been practicing quite a bit. Here are two I took outside in the snow on a rare sunny day. I learned snow works great when doing backlight form a flickr member. Snow serves as a natural reflector, popping light back in the face. I love learning new things...

Today's "Our Daily Challenge" theme was Chained and a braid was the first thing that popped into my head. I know, i know it's a very lose interpretation but it's all I got today. Too busy to spend all day trying to find chains...

Make a Splash: 365 day 80

Temperatures have been unseasonably warm and some of the snow in our driveway melted so Naomi went out in her crocks and splashed around.  This usually doesn't happen till late March so all the kids were out and about taking it all in.  Even adults were seen out jogging without shirts in the 55 degree weather.  Yes, I think it's crazy too.  Even Naomi out in crocks when there's snow on the ground is slightly insane but it's a UP thing

We went to Winter Carnival to check out all the snow sculptures and found this HUGE tree with a big hole in it. Of course she wanted to get in it and I snapped away!

Our Daily Challenge for today was "Begins with F" and the first thing I thought of was fingers. So since it's Valentines weekend and I'm having this obssession with hearts, this is what I came up with...
